Work and background: Complete AI project tasks after receiving a project invitation and completing the required setup. [1]
Application and screening: Create a Handshake profile with expertise and resume details. Identity verification and payout setup are required before project work. [1]
Country and eligibility: US participants need an SSN or ITIN and supported work authorization. International participation is currently invite-only. The dedicated eligibility page excludes STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B and TN; confirm your status with Handshake before accepting a project. [2]
Pay and unpaid time: Rates can be hourly or per task. Initial account setup is unpaid; project onboarding is paid only when the Project Terms say so. Time caps can limit paid task time even when completion takes longer. [3]
Access to work: Applications do not guarantee placement. Invitations depend on qualifications, partner demand and available projects. [4]
